Taliban kidnap 10 paramilitaries in Upper Dir: police
Taliban militants Friday kidnapped 10 paramilitary soldiers from their local headquarters in a northwest Pakistan town bordering the troubled Swat valley, police said. The abduction took place in the town of Dir, in the Upper Dir district of Malakand — where the military this week launched an offensive against Taliban in Lower Dir and Buner districts. Up to 60 Taliban militants stormed the local paramilitary headquarters and snatched 10 personnel around 1:00 am (1900 GMT Thursday),
