Govt lifts governor-rule in Punjab, issues notification
The government has lifted governor-rule in Punjab and issued a notification to this effect, a private TV reported on Monday. President Asif Ali Zardari signed the advice moved by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani for lifting of governors rule in the province. Prime Minister Gilani had an important meeting with President Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr yesterday after which the latter duly signed the advice from the PM seeking lifting of governors rule in Punjab.
