China urges US to acknowledge Taiwan is Chinese
The Chinese government called on the United States Wednesday to acknowledge that Taiwan is part of China, reacting to a US Congress pledge of “unwavering” support for the island’s security. “Our position is consistent, we hope that the US side can support, the one-China principle,” Fan Liqing, spokeswoman of China’s cabinet-level Taiwan Affairs Office, told journalists in a brief statement.
