Gordon Brown arrives in Egypt for Gaza summit
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown arrived in Egypt on Sunday for a summit on Israel’s Gaza offensive, saying the violence had underlined the “urgent need” for a long-term peace settlement. Brown will join leaders from Germany, Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Jordan at a meeting at the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh co-hosted by French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
